We have been working in Syria since 2011 as one of the leading humanitarian actors focusing on Education in Emergency, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and more recently Early Recovery & Livelihood, operating in Aleppo, Raqqa and Deir-ez-Zor and with 3 Field Offices in Damascus, Aleppo and Deir-ez-Zor.
With the recent turn of events, the collapse of the regime and the fragile political situation, which is evolving hour by hour, we call for the protection of the rights of all Syrians and for the safety of all humanitarian staff.
We have always been committed and beside the Syrian population in these past 13 years and will continue to stand with the people, to deliver essential services and support.
More than 17 million people in Syria are still in need of humanitarian assistance, and the hundreds of thousands of new IDPs will make the situation more complicated. The most vulnerable are children, women, elderly, and people with disabilities.
“The humanitarian situation is critical and our work on the ground needs to resume immediately, to deliver emergency relief to children and their families,” comments Andrea Sparro, Country Representative in Syria for WeWorld, currently in Damascus.
