Global Districts, for an inclusive education to change

Global Districts is promoted by ACRA and co-funded by the European DEAR program. It aims to create a more inclusive society at the local and community levels, promoting a sense of co-responsibility for local and global sustainable development. The action focuses on young people, especially girls, who are less involved in global challenges. Through specific activities, young people from urban districts and rural areas at risk of marginalization will develop skills to counter global inequalities and engage in change. The project also involves young leaders, activists, youth groups, educators, and policymakers in a journey that aims to impact the European dimension by supporting and adopting inclusive educational practices and policies.

Project Activities

Workshops, Creative Experiences, and Informal Learning Actions: Engagement, awareness-raising, and active participation of at-risk boys and girls in change processes against global inequalities and for gender equality through civic participation schools and virtual meetings with youth from the Global South.

Training on Inclusive Global Citizenship Education: Enhancement of skills for teachers, educators, operators, facilitators, and activists, focusing on the intersectional and gender approach in formal and informal education contexts.

Financial Support and Capacity Building: Provision of financial support and capacity building for associations and informal youth groups, aimed at empowering girls and engaging disadvantaged youth facing economic, social, and geographical challenges.

Exchange, Networking, and Advocacy Activities: Participation of civil society organizations, policymakers, and institutional representatives at local, national, and European levels in proposing policies for inclusive global citizenship education.

Youth-Led Communication Campaign: Raising awareness about gender issues and promoting civic engagement through a campaign actively involving young people.
